theres been an exercise bike sitting in my room for like, three years now. what would be the best amount of time each day to bike on it? i hope that makes sense. would 30 minutes a day be good or maybe an hour?

yeah so it sounds like you’re pretty young so I would say that you should probably start by working on endurance and some minor weight training

so like start by running or jogging a mile or wherever you can fit in every day or every other day to help your endurance some and also buy some weights probably like 10 or 20 pounds and start doing 1 to 3 sets a day

each set should be like you lifting the weights 10 or 20 or whatever your able to do

keep doing that until you can do more distance faster or without getting tired and more weight and you should be ready for more advanced stuff

basically just simple stuff to get you started in your free time

yeah so for this id basically say that you should like consider what exactly your goals are for your workouts and how often you want to do it

cause like 30 to an hour daily can be good for general health and like your heart and your legs and stuff

but like if you want to lose weight or really improve your health or get stronger you’d want to think about going longer and also spacing out the work more so you don’t hurt your body and also you’d want to start combining it with other stuff like weights or a diet

exercise bikes are really good cause you can do other stuff while you work out though which like seems good for a lot of the people on this forum cause like if your good you can play games or like read or watch shows while you work out

i got my brother to work out more with me recently cause i said we could listen to one of his audio books while we bike and he agreed so doing stuff like that too can be a good motivator

Hey Big J, my best friend keeps beating me at Kendo. Do you have any advice on how I could strengthen my body so that I stand a better chance? I would like to have stronger shoulders, arms, wrists, and calves for positioning.

hi fakegoth

sorry for not replying i was on a hike with my brother so i didn t see the message

so i dont know much about kendo cause ive only boxed before so i cant say exactly what exercises are best

id recommend that you space out your exercise from when you practice too so you arent sore when you practice

but to start ill go through a few recommendations

so when it comes to shoulder and arm strength youre gonna need weights and if your in good shape probably best to start with 15 or more pounds and youre gonna want to do probably curls and front raises

so curls are just the thing people always do in movies and stuff when they work out where you hold the weights at your side with your fingers facing forwards and then you raise them to your shoulders by curling your elbow and then front raises are the same but your fingers face away from you and instead of curling your elbow your rotate your whole arm upwards

try and do both like 15-25 times

honestly im not sure whats best for wrists and calves cause ive never done much workouts with them specifically but you could probably do wrist extensions which are just holding a weight in your hand and then you put your arm against a flat surface and lift the weight with just your wrist

for calves id say probably just walking or running is good and you can probably follow something like what i said for finger but it sounds like your more active so at as higher level

hope that can help you
